Want to Rent an Acadia or Enclave?

Avis Rent-A-Car in Los Angeles rents the GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave.  Would that help in your decision making process?  Imagine taking one out on the road for a real extended test drive!  Take one up PCH or out to Las Vegas.  Renting a car can be fun and a nice way to explore vehicle options.  Especially if you've got some extended driving to do.  There's a few benifits here.  First, you don't rack up a bunch of miles on your current vehicle.  Second, you get a nice change of pace from your current vehicle and third, you get to experience the car your interested in in a real world setting.  For many, just a test drive at the dealership will do the trick, but for a lot of folks, a day or two behind the wheel of the car you're most interested in can really help you with that final decision making process.

Today I met Juan Marino Torres who is a Rental Agent for the Avis on Westwood Blvd.  He told me he's looking to get an Acadia by the end of the year.  He sees them in his store and really likes them.  More often than not I hear people ask, "Where can I rent one?"  Well now we know for sure.  If you'd like to make this part of your decision process, contact Juan at 310-446-4190.

If this helps with your decision, "remember you heard it here first dear readers.  Off the record, on the Q.T. and very Hush, Hush..."

Keyes Woodland Hills Cadillac and a Mile of Quarters!

Keyes Woodland Hills Cadillac recently worked with The Boys and Girls Club of the West Valley as a key sponsor helping with their fourth annual Mile of Quarters.  The fund raising event was held at the Westfield Topanga and Promenade mall on Saturday September 11th.

In a press release, from the Club, Gary Thoman, chairman of the youth services said, "September 11 is also a National Day of Service.  It is an extension of Senator Edward Kennedy's Serve America Act that President Obama signed in April, 2009. The day is set aside to do a good deed or donate to a charity.  Parents and grandparents can make it a memorable way of teaching children about the value of helping others in their community while commemorating the Day of Service." Continued Thomas, “This is not a major fundraising event for large donors; this is a free event for the community. Families can participate for as little as $3.25 for one foot of quarters.”

The Mile of Quarters event allows community members to contribute quarters to be laid out for one mile through the Topanga Mall.  The donations will help support the Club's programs for needy youths.

The Boys and Girls Club of the West Valley was founded in 1992 to meet the local needs of children during non-school hours who need safe, healthy and productive activities.

The Club is located at 7245 Remmet Ave., Canoga Park, CA 91303.  Their phone number is 818-610-1054 and you can find them on the web at www.wvbgc.org

To represent Keyes Woodland Hills Cadillac, we had 12 year sales veteran Jim MacVicar there to answer questions about the all new 2011 Cadillac CTS Coupe.  Jim is available for demonstrations and test drives most days and can be reached at 818-348-4352.

Keyes Cadillac is proud to sponsor local community events here in Woodland Hills.  One of our goals is to be your neighborhood dealer and we stive to continually live up to the Keyes motto, "Where it's fun to buy a car!"

Buick In The News Leading the Turnaround

In a recent article from ABCnews.com, Richard Davies reports on the big U-turn from Buick and GM.

Let's take a look:

"Not long ago Buicks were a symbol of what was wrong with Detroit, and the stumbling U.S. auto industry.

Today, Buick has made a U-turn and is on the fast track. After more than two decades of falling sales and a stale image, the 'senior citizen's car' has quietly been re-tooled with new designs and a more aggressive advertising campaign. General Motors executives sound excited, claiming Buick is the fastest growing brand in America.

Sales of the Enclave, LaCrosse and Regal models have more than doubled in the past year. Buick sold 7,047 Lacrosse in July, five times the level of July, 2009. Advertising Age reports Buick is the best selling GM brand in China, the world's biggest market for new cars.

Related

Customer satisfaction has also improved. A new survey by the American Customer Satisfaction Index, an Ann Arbor, Mich. based review of car consumers, shows Buick is now in second place with a satisfaction reading of 88% - just one point behind the top rated Lincoln –Mercury nameplate.

At current rates, GM will sell more than 148,000 Buicks this year, more far more than last year's dismal 102,306 total. It would also be a gain compared to 137,197 in 2008.

Auto industry analysts say today's Buick is much more up-to-date than it was a few years ago, and competitive with rival brands.

Autoguide.com says the average age of a Buick buyer has dropped from 64 to 61-years-old in the past 18 months. That's still relatively old, but for GM, it's a turn in the right direction.

Buick Takes on the Competition

Switch on the radio and you will hear a different kind of marketing in company commercials. Ryan Willard speaks about "falling in love" with the sporty design and chrome trim of the new Buick Lacrosse. Enclave owner Denise Melendez compares her Buick Enclave with the popular Ford Edge and Focus. The aim is to go younger and go after the competition."

So folks both young and old are swiftly falling in love with Buick and all that Buick has to offer.  If you haven't had the chance to get up close and personal with a Buick, please contact the Internet Department at Keyes Woodland Hills Buick or call us direct at 800-691-4920.  Your Internet Department is David Bradley, Charlie Nicgorski and Brian Roberts.

2011 GMC Acadia DENALI at Keyes GMC in Woodland Hills

THE 2011 ACADIA DENALI – THE FIRST DENALI CROSSOVER EVER

  • · GMC is extending its exclusive Denali line to include the highly successful Acadia brand that defined the crossover segment.
  • · The all-inclusive Acadia Denali is the ultimate combination of space and efficiency with top-of-the-line amenities.
  • · Signature Denali cues include the honeycomb grille, chrome accents, body-color fascias and fender flares, mahogany wood steering wheel and wood accents, and lighted sill plates.

DETROIT –  GMC unveiled the 2011 Acadia Denali in Detroit. The first Denali was launched in 1999 on the Yukon brand and helped define the luxury SUV segment. With nearly half of all Yukon sales being Denali models, expanding the Denali line to include the Acadia was a logical extension.

Acadia Denali will provide GMC customers with all the amenities the Denali is known for, in a fuel-efficient crossover.

“The GMC Denali models have come to stand for luxury and exclusivity and that’s just

what customers will get in the new Acadia Denali,” said Lisa Hutchinson, GMC product

marketing director. “The decision to develop an Acadia Denali was made quickly within

the new GM in response to customer and dealer demand for a Denali version ever since

the launch and success of the Acadia.”

The Acadia launched in 2007 as the first crossover from GMC with segment leading fuel economy and innovative features. An exclusive SmartSlide System allows easy access to an adult-sized third row with available seven- or eight- passenger seating configurations. Fold flat 2nd and 3rd row seats allow flexible passenger and cargo configurations of the best-in-class interior space. Acadia’s refined styling, impressive fuel efficiency, and confidence inspiring safety features made it an immediate success and ideal platform to build upon for a Denali model.

The 2011 Acadia Denali goes on sale in the third quarter of 2010. Available in both frontwheel drive and all-wheel drive models, as well as seven- and eight-passenger configurations. The standard 3.6L Direct Injected V-6 contributes to an EPA highway rating of 24 mpg with FWD models.

The Acadia Denali will stand out with its signature Denali design cues highlighted by the mono-color exterior and chrome honeycomb grille, a feature on all GMC Denali models.

It also wears a number of specific exterior design cues, including:

· Unique lower front and rear fascias
· High-intensity discharge headlamps
· Body-color lower cladding and rocker moldings
· Body-color rear fascia and fender flares
· Unique body-side moldings with chrome accents and Denali badges
· Dual Chrome exhaust tips.

Further distinction comes with 20-inch, two-tone chrome-clad wheels. The six-spoke wheels feature black chrome spoke inserts set against bright chrome.

The Acadia Denali is offered in five exterior colors: Quicksilver Metallic, Summit White, Carbon Black, Red Jewel Tintcoat and White Diamond Tricoat.

Luxury amenities

Acadia Denali delivers all the luxury and refinement that are hallmarks of the Denali line.  It includes a number of exclusive design, comfort and convenience features including:

· Premium Acoustics - laminated glass, triple door seals, and liquid applied sound deadeners

· Perforated leather seats with matching leather door panel trim

· Heated and cooled driver and passenger seats
· Leather wrapped steering wheel with mahogany wood inserts
· Complementary wood grain finish on the instrument panel and center stack
· Enhanced accent lighting in the footwells
· Chrome, lighted sill plates with the Denali logo
· Dual SkyScape sunroof system, with sliding front sunroof and fixed rear section.
· Head-up display (HUD)

Additional content includes:

· Tri-zone automatic climate control
· Navigation system including XM NavTraffic (available)
· Bluetooth connectivity
· OnStar
· Rear-seat DVD entertainment system, with roof-mounted flip-down screen(available)
· Premium audio system with USB port and Bose 10-speaker sound system
· XM Satellite Radio
· Rearview camera system
· Eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory
· Remote vehicle start.

GMC capability

Acadia Denali is powered by a 3.6L Direct Injection V-6 engine with VVT that optimizes performance and fuel economy, while also reducing emissions – including a 25-percent reduction in cold-start emissions. Engine performance is enhanced by the advanced sixspeed automatic transmission. The maximum towing capacity is a class leading 5,200 pounds (2,364 kg).

A long, 118.9-inch (3,021 mm) wheelbase and wide 67.28-inch (1,709 mm) front/rear tracks give it a lower center of gravity and enable smooth, stable ride and handling for driving comfort. Independent front and rear suspensions enhance smoothness and deliver a more responsive driving experience. The front suspension features a MacPherson strut design, with a direct-acting stabilizer bar and aluminum knuckles, while the rear suspension uses a compact, state-of-the-art linked “H” design. Isolated mounting points help reduce noise and vibration.

The suspension is tuned specifically for the Acadia Denali’s 20-inch wheels and the available AWD system enhances dry-road handling and provides increased traction on wet, snow and ice-covered roads. Four-wheel disc brakes with ABS are standard, as are the following features:

· StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with rollover mitigation technology
· Traction control system
· Tire pressure monitoring system.

Acadia Denali is covered by GM’s five-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Warranty and three-year/36,000-mile Bumper-to-Bumper warranty – the best coverage in America.

Keyes Woodland Hills Buick GMC Cadillac: National Police Week May 9th-15th

First initiated by President John F. Kennedy in 1962, National Police Week focuses on the many men and women of law enforcement that have given their lives in the line of duty. This year 324 names will be added to the memorial wall including 116 officers killed during 2009. Last year was one of the lowest years for officer deaths, but for those 116 families, the loss was catastrophic. To put it into easy to understand terms, before National Police Week is over another two officers (on the average) will be killed in the line of duty.

A candlelight vigil will take place at the Officer's Memorial in Washington D.C. on May 13 at 8pm. It is expected to draw over 20,000 to the ceremony. To watch it live you can go to:   www.LawMemorial.org/webcast  and remember it is Eastern Time. There will be many events taking place at both the city and state levels this week so be sure to keep our officers in mind and if nothing else, just give someone on the other side of that badge a big "howdy".

Keyes Woodland Hills Buick-GMC-Cadillac continues to salute our officers and support local enforcement. We have a family connection here at Keyes with both the LASD and LAPD. During the Police Challenge Cup/Baker to Vegas we are happy to provide chase cars to some of the police running teams. We also take part in the loaner car program which provides undercover vehicles to detectives for special assignments. Due to budget cuts these operations can't get access to the needed cars without the support of local businesses. We also are glad to provide flexibility to one of our very own managers that continues to serve part time for the police department. This allows him to contribute valuable services to our local community while still being an assest to the Keyes organization.

At Keyes Woodland Hills Buick GMC Cadilalc we take our community involvement seriously. We hope that every little gesture to show support for law enforcement aids in making our community safer.

Keyes Sponsers Law Enforcement Baker To Vegas Challenge Cup

So What's this picture all a-boot?

For the last 20 years every April brings the Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay which was a project started by the LAPD's Revolver and Athletic Club.

It is a great way to raise money and it get bigger every year. Since it's inception 20 years ago over 100,000 officers have joined their respective department running teams and have taken part in this worthwhile event.

This year Keyes Woodland Hills Buick GMC and Cadillac store was able to provide three vehicles to help sponser several of both the LASD and LAPD teams. The LAPD was playing host to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Women's Team. Two members of the team were kind enough to pose next to one of our chase vehicles in their classic full dress Mountie attire. Go Mounties!

As some may know, we have a special law enforcement family relationship at our store and we stand ready to always do our best to help provide for your transportation needs. The Mounties may always get their man, but at Keyes, you'll be sure to get your deal.

Your Law Enforcement contact here at Keyes Woodland Hills Buick GMC and Cadillac is Charlie Nicgorski.  Look for our ad in the Blue Line and contact Charlie Direct for the straight shot.  800-691-4920 ext. 122.

Buick sales surge as its buyers get younger - latimes.com

Buick sales surge as its buyers get younger - latimes.com

Folks, this is a great article from the L.A. Times and well worth reading as we prepare for the launch of the 2011 Regal.

Buick is developing!

Here's a sample:

"GM is hoping the new Buick models will act as an automotive fountain of youth and attract more customers such as 48-year-old Frank Zuniga, a real estate broker from Hacienda Heights.

"When people think of Buick they think of the stereotype big boats, but they have really done some nice redesigns to compete with upper-end vehicles," said Zuniga, who recently spent about $40,000 on a fully equipped LaCrosse.

"I was close to getting the Lexus, but when I looked at what the LaCrosse was offering it was pretty attractive. I think it will be a hot seller for a while," Zuniga said.

The comparison to the Lexus is exactly what GM executives are gunning for. Much of their advertising pits the LaCrosse against the Lexus ES 350, the luxury brand's entry-level sedan.

That's one reason LaCrosse sale rose 336% in California to 528 vehicles in the first quarter while Lexus ES 350 sales have fallen 37% to 1,100, according to the California New Car Dealers Assn. Overall Buick sales in California have doubled from a year earlier.

Nationally, Buick sales surged more than 50% to 44,317 through the first four months of this year, a period when industry sales gained 16.7%, according to Autodata Corp. Buick also is outselling Ford Motor Co.'s Lincoln luxury brand this year.

The brand expects to double its current level of sales over the next several years."
